The League of Dreams' 2023 Gala — Making Dreams Come True — is a celebration of our extraordinary athletes and the amazing community that supports them. Gala guests will join us for a one-night-only experience at The Links at Riverlakes Ranch Golf Course, starting with cocktails and dinner. Virtual Karate is back for a spring season. Karate (martial arts) is a program that started in 2020 and is in partnership with 1World Martial Arts in Austin, Texas. Their knowledge and expertise brings a fun and inclusive program for LoD athletes ages 5 to 22. Classes will be Saturday afternoons via Zoom. No class on April 8 due to the Easter holiday. Registration opens on January 1, 2023!
Registration for spring baseball/ tee ball will begin on January 1, 2023. The season will kick off with Opening Day Ceremonies followed by 8 weeks of games. Tryouts for placement purposes are Saturday, February 4, 2023. All games will be played at Fruitvale Norris Park on Sunday afternoons.
Our newly added fitness program is back in partnership with A3 Sports Performance. Register now for the 12 week program which will be held on Saturday mornings. This program is open to LoD athletes ages 5 and up with all disability levels.
Registration for winter 2023 fencing is open now! Registration for this program is for athletes 8 and older, and athletes must be able to get up the stairs as there is no elevator. Program is 4 weeks on Saturdays (early afternoons) at the Women's Club of Bakersfield building.
Autism on the Run is back! This family friendly community event is a 2k and 5k event with shopping and food vendors. Check in/ onsite registration will begin at 9am and the races will begin at 10am. Sponsorship and vendor spaces are available. For info email email@example.com
Here's your chance to see Santa! Join us for photos with Santa and then a pancake, egg and sausage breakfast. Tickets are $10 per person (children under 2 are free). 2022 Fall Virtual Karate

Virtual Karate is back for a fall season. Karate (martial arts) is a program that started in 2020 and is in partnership with 1World Martial Arts in Austin, Texas. Their knowledge and expertise brings a fun and inclusive program for LoD athletes ages 5 to 22. Classes will be Saturday afternoons via Zoom. No class on October 22 due to their tournament which LoD athletes will have a chance to participate in, and no class November 26 due to the Thanksgiving holiday.
We have teamed up with A3 Sports Performance to add another program! This fitness program will be 12 weeks on Saturday mornings August 13- October 29 at the A3 complex. The classes are 1 hour long and for all LoD ability levels. Balance, coordination, motor control, strength, endurance, healthy habits and more will be included in the program. Email with questions. The League of Dreams is partnering with Kern Down Syndrome Network to bring iCan Bike to Bakersfield! iCan Bike teaches children and adults with disabilities how to ride a bike over a course of 5 days. iCan Bike Bakersfield will take place April 11-15, 2022. Registration is open now and space is limited.
Concert for the Causes is back!
Easton Corbin will take the stage at the Kern County Raceway on May 7, 2022!
Joe & Martina, Joe Peters and The Rivals Band will also perform. The concert will benefit League of Dreams, MARE Riding Center and The Wounded Heroes Fund (all Kern County nonprofits).

Winter Fencing Program

Register for the 2022 Winter Fencing program in partnership with Kern Athletic Fencing Foundation. The fencing program is 5 weeks on Saturday afternoons from January 8 through February 5, 2022. Registration is $15.
Fencing is located at 2030 18th Street, Bakersfield, CA 93301 . It is upstairs and there is no elevator so athletes must be able to enter independently. Registration will close December 30th.

Gymnastics is back! Registration is open for our 8- week spring gymnastics program in partnership with American Kids Sports Center. Classes will run Saturdays, April 10 through May 29 at the Southwest location. Registration is $30through March 19 and increases to $40 on March 20, 2021. Virtual Karate is an online program allowing athletes with disabilities the chance to reach their goals and move up in the martial arts levels. We will offer 2 classes on Saturday afternoons from January 23 to March 27. White to Yellow belt and Yellow to Advanced Yellow belt classes are available. Registration is online only. Our annual Breakfast with Santa is going to be a Drive Thru at the Applebee's in the Marketplace on Saturday, December 5th from 8am to 10am. Tickets are $10 person with children 2 and younger free. League of Dreams Executive Director Jessica Mathews was named as one of 2019's 20 People to Watch in the Bakersfield Life Magazine. Mathews has served as the League Director since 2012.

The 2019 baseball season has come to an end. Families celebrated Mother's Day out at the ball park and athletes received their trophies!
Registration for Bowling 2019 will be open from April 1st through May 31st. The season will run 6 weeks on Sundays from June 2- July 7 at Southwest Lanes. Angel volunteers are needed as well.
